PRESENTACIÓN DE EUROPEAN WRITERS CLUB (EWC) - Galicia, destino Europeo para guionistas

EWC is a European program designed to inspire and encourage collaboration between writers, producers, and broadcasteres. The goal of this new project is to encourage for the creation of fiction series that cross borders and reach Europena audiences.

The action of the EWC focuses on audiovisual writing, from the birth of an idea to the delivery of a bible ready for commissioning. The program includes reators and writers of different nationalities from Europe, in dialogue with producers and broadcasters, from private and public channels and local platforms in Europe.

The EWC project has the support of the European Union through the Preparatory Action "Writing European" call. Xunta de Galicia is the main partner, together with Vision Denmark. Among the collaborating institutions, representing Spain, is the General Society of Authors and Publishers (SGAE).

We will have the pleasure of being joined by Gema R. Neira, Galician scriptwriter and creator of Gran Hotel, Las Chicas del Cable etc...and Spanish representative of this first edition of Boosting Ideas. She will at this occasion share her impression on this session, and how fruitful it was for her to meet her European colleagues and European commissionner as well as share how this workshop helped her already flourishing career.

The event will present the program, and the first results of the Boosting Ideas session which took place in Copenhagen and Tallinn. During the talk will also be presented the several activities of the concluding workshop planned in Ourense in June 2023, and how the Galician industry can benefit from the EWC Public events and Open Clubs.

EWC es un programa diseñado para inspirar y fomentar la colaboración entre guionistas, productores, y responsables de contenido de cadenas de televisión y plataformas. El objetivo es crear series de ficción que crucen fronteras y lleguen a las audiencias europeas y del resto del mundo.

La acción del EWC se centra en la narración audiovisual, desde el nacimiento de una idea hasta la confección de una biblia lista para su entrega, de la que formarán parte creadores y escritores de distintas nacionalidades de Europa, en diálogo con los productores, compañías de televisión y plataformas VOD de contenido audiovisual europeo.

El proyecto EWC cuenta con el apoyo de la Unión Europea a través de la convocatoria Preparatory Action "Writing European". La Xunta de Galicia es socio principal, junto con la entidad Vision Denmark, en esta iniciativa y entre las instituciones colaboradoras, en representación de España, se encuentra la Sociedad General de Autores y Editores (SGAE).

La sesión contará además con la presencia de Gemma R. Neira, guionista gallega y única representante española en los dos primeros talleres de EWC, que relatará en primera persona sus impresiones y lo que esta experiencia significa para su carrera profesonal

En el transcurso del acto se expondrá la dinámica del programa así como las primeras conclusiones de los talleres celebrados hasta la fecha en Copenhague y Tallin. También se dará cuenta de las acciones previstas durante la celebración del taller Boosting Concepts que tendrá lugar en Ourense en la primera semana de junio y cómo se podrán beneficiar guionistas y productores de la industria audiovisual gallega.
