A two-day workshop taking place from the 15th September evening, to the 17th September early afternoon in Madrid, during the third European Writers Club camp Bridging Generations. Its aim is to help writers shape stories with the potential to create impact across borders.
With input from international acclaimed writers, producers, European broadcasters, streamers, sales agents, audience and format experts, this course aims to provide the participating writers/producers from Spain (Galicia and Madrid) with an insight to the current landscape for tv-series in Europe and introduce to some of the newest tools within audience design and format thinking.
This is not just about developing a project. It’s about understanding how to position your story in a broader conversation, where cultural identity and international relevance meet.
15 - 17 September 2025
Madrid, Spain
We are selecting 16 experienced writers (8 from Galicia and 8 from Madrid) who want to explore how to make them resonate beyond borders.
Through a carefully designed programme of panels, discussions, and case studies the participants will explore:
→ What makes a story relevant to international audiences
→ How to build cross-border collaborations
→ Explore other formats
→ How to connect with the industry: Other experienced writers, broadcasters, sales agents
The course runs alongside EWC’s Camp 3, bringing additional opportunities to engage with professionals from across Europe. Selected participants will be invited to join a number of open sessions and events, including a case study on the series Drops of God (FranceTV/AppleTV), with its creative team and international partners.
The course will be conducted in english and is provided to you by EWC, Agadic-Xunta de Galicia, Ayuntamiento de Madrid and The European Union, and is free of charge for the selected writers and producers and inclusive of subsistence (accommodation for Galician writers will as well be covered).
